Pediatric Dental Services

Knobs Family Dental provides complete family dental care, including dental care for young children. Did you know that the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommends children should see a dentist within six months after their first tooth shows or around their first birthday? This introduces a healthy dental care routine and helps to ensure proper care of your growing child's teeth.

We at Knobs Family Dental want to make your child's dentist experience fun and comfortable. We encourage parents to stay with their children if needed and to ask questions during the dental process. To learn more about our gentle pediatric care, call Knobs Family Dental today at (812) 923-1400.

Pediatric Sealants

Prevent tooth decay and cavities in baby teeth with dental sealants from Knobs Family Dental. Sealants work to cover or seal the recesses on the biting surface of a tooth, including grooves, fissures, and cingulum pits. For more information, reach out to Knobs Family Dental.

Pediatric Fluoride Treatments

Remineralize teeth with pediatric fluoride treatments from Knobs Family Dental. These treatments repair tooth enamel and help prevent tooth decay. Fluoride makes teeth more resistant to bacteria that often results in plaque buildup. Our fluoride treatments are safe for your children. Pediatric Composite (Tooth-Colored) Restorations

Composite fillings are used to treat cavities and are tooth-colored to blend in with your child's teeth. First, we remove the existing tooth decay. Then, we fill the tooth in with composite material. For more information about tooth restorations, reach out to Knobs Family Dental.

Baby Teeth Extraction

If a tooth cannot be restored, we may recommend a tooth extraction. If an extraction is needed, we first numb the area with local anesthesia, loosen the tooth from its socket in the gum, and then carefully remove the tooth. We will apply stitches if necessary. For additional information about tooth extractions, contact Knobs Family Dental.

Space Maintainers

Did your child lose a tooth early or have a baby tooth extraction? Space maintainers help ensure the permanent adult tooth will have room to grow. Space maintainers are custom-made appliances which can be either removable or semi-permanent. They help guide the permanent tooth into position which also helps reduce future orthodontic work. Call Knobs Family Dental at (812) 923-1400 to learn more.
